On August 9, 2019, Chess in the Schools’ College Bound program visited Two Sigma for a staff vs. students chess tournament! Prior to the 4 round G/10 tournament, students were treated to an employee led tour of the Two Sigma offices including a visit to the Two Sigma “Hacker Lab.”
The event included 15 College Bound students and 11 Two Sigma employees. Chess in the Schools was very excited to work with Two Sigma to make this event happen! Two Sigma has a strong chess culture and have a long history of supporting chess in the United States.
CIS College Bound students, Steven Xue, Jeremy Zheng, Katrina Wong, and alum Janell Warner, tied for first place in the event.
We look forward to another chess event at Two Sigma during the school year.
